The Princess is walking!

Sydney is starting to take a few steps on her own now! She's not a big fan of letting go so I let her hold a ponytail holder and then I let go and she takes a few steps on her own. Her problem is that she gets excited and tries to run so she falls down.

This video was taken 2 nights ago and she is doing a LOT better on her own now. We will try to get a new video tomorrow!

Motion Monday

I wanted to get a video of Sydney rocking herself in the rocking chair....but she was ready to show off! She rocked, waved, drummed, "clapped" (throwing her hands up) and laughed! Hope you all enjoy!

Christmas Pictures Take 2

Links, Links everywhere!

My sister is working with Mimi's etsy store on some pictures to show off Mimi's completely adorable beanies. Check out her pictures of the kids in their beanies on her photography blog here.

Awhile back, I won a shopping cart cover from Myra (check out her blog-it's awesome) made by Mimi. It is wonderful...we use it ALL the time (and I actually have 2 store bought ones and like this one MUCH better!!). Check out the blogs and let them all know what you think!!

Christmas Pictures Take 1

I'm no Marsha, but I tried to take some Christmas pictures of Sydney today. For those of you that didn't hear, Sydney has been sick since Wednesday night. She was feeling better today, so we decided to attempt pictures. She is still {extremely} cute, but we didn't get any of her normal big smiles.

Don't laugh--I know some of you had trolls!

I just love this "don't mess with my troll" face

Mommy made the bow, Mimi made the dress!

Gotta show off this beautiful dress!

God, Guns, and Guts made America free!

Happy Veterans Day!
We would like to thank all of our past and present military for all that they have done and all they are doing to protect America!

We were able to take Sydney to Decatur this morning to see the Veterans Day parade. She enjoyed it (except the loud fire trucks) and even got her own flag to wave from the veterans walking! Someone made the comment to us that a lot of kids now don't understand the meaning of our flag and how sad it is...Well, we plan on teaching Sydney the meaning of the flag and the importance of our Veterans!

Thank you to all those who serve!

Motion Monday Part 2

Sydney LOVES to splash in the bathtub. We get almost as wet as she does. She doesn't even care that it gets all in her face, she just keeps on splashing...This video is actually a mild version of her splashing! Hope you enjoy!

Motion Monday

Sydney has started "dancing" when she hears music. It's really cute...she can be crawling around and as soon as she hears music, she has to stop and dance.

A long {fun-filled} weekend

This weekend has been a very busy, but very fun one! We started our journey Thursday evening as we headed to Mobile, AL to visit my very special niece for her 3rd birthday party (has it been 3 whole years already??) We had a blast playing with Katie & Austin and spending time with the rest of the family! Megan & I enjoyed helping Marsha decorate for the party during naptime--and when Katie woke up, she LOVED it! Katie was so sweet--she kept thanking everyone for her party and for coming to visit her at her house. Austin wasn't feeling well some of the time, but he was still a very sweet boy! He can blow kisses and say milk and thank you and it is adorable!! Austin's favorite part of the party was the tissue paper!!

When we got back home, we decided to go to Hartselle's Christmas open house so that Sydney could meet Santa and we could go spend her gift certificate to The Robin's Nest. She was okay with Santa at first...she even took a candy cane from him...but when he moved beside her to take a picture she decided to start pouting! She didn't even really cry...and she was over it as soon as he moved back and started talking to her again! I think she heard somewhere that kids are supposed to cry in their first pictures with Santa!

We took her to The Robin's Nest to pick out her first "real" baby doll. She loved them all! Everytime she saw one she grinned. We {finally} picked out a beautiful Corolle doll that is soft, just Sydney's size, AND can go in the bathtub!! Sydney absolutely loved her! I think she may have found a new best friend!

Sometimes (ok, a LOT of times)...I do silly things to make Sydney laugh...it's so easy some days :) Anyway, here is a video of Sydney playing and laughing at Mommy.

A lot can happen in 9 months...

And a lot has happened at our house since January 28th! Sydney is the most wonderful, precious child in the entire world (and I'm pretty positive about that!!) She makes everyone that she meets smile, which makes Kyle & I feel extremely proud to be her parents. God has definitely blessed us with an angel (ok, not quite an angel...she does get in trouble sometimes).

At 9 months Sydney:

- Crawl
- Walk holding someone's hands (or using walking wings)
- Cruise around all of the furniture
- Stand up & sit back down
- Wave & say "hey" and "bye" every now & then
- Eat some table food
- Still has no teeth
- Reaches up for someone
- Shows her temper when she doesn't get her way
- Feed herself small pieces of food
- Sign & say "all done" (in her own way)
- Drinks from a straw
- Will go to almost anyone without crying
- Met Scooby Doo (a person dressed up) and didn't cry at all
- Went Trick or Treating for the 1st time today
- Likes to watch Handy Manny & Jungle Junction

She can definitely do a lot of things now. It is amazing how fast time flies when you have a little one. We went to the library for story time & the Halloween party today. The kids came dressed up & Trick or Treated around the library. Sydney liked seeing all the different people and kids...and EVERYONE loved her bumble bee costume that Mimi made (don't worry I'll post more pictures later). We went in Target to get diapers after the party and it took us 30 minutes to get done because everyone stopped us to see her cute costume! She was definitely a show stopper :)

Aunt Marsha took some GREAT pictures of Sydney while she was here last weekend. I don't have them all yet, but I convinced her to send me a few for my blog post today. If you need a good photographer, check with her...she is amazing and very good (and patient) with kids/babies (and their parents too)!

Time for a doctor visit...

Sydney went for her 9 month check up today. She was 17 lb 12 oz, 26 1/2 inches long, and absolutely perfect! :) She enjoyed being able to explore the exam room this time since she can crawl around. She laughed for Dr. Marques, and towards the end of the visit even showed a little of her temper (she was getting hungry). She didn't have to get any shots today, so it was a pretty easy check-up for her!

After her check up we decided to stop by and see Mimi and Aunt Megan. After lunch, we all went to the mall to get Megan's ears pierced. She decided that if Sydney could handle it she could too :) She did very well!! Look for an update on Wednesday to see a post on everything Sydney is doing now (and hopefully to see some pictures)!

Motion Monday

Sydney is practicing using her "walking wings"...they help to teach her balance without holding someone's hands. She was doing really well until she started getting tired. The dogs were a little scared of her while she was using them...and she thought it was hilarious!

Pumpkins Pumpkins Everywhere!

Yesterday we go to go to Tate Farms Pumpkin Patch with some of our friends! Mimi and Aunt Megan brought Katie and Austin and we met a couple of people from our playdate group there!

We got to pet bunnies and goats, walk through a maze, ride on a hay ride, play in a corn crib, and even pick our own pumpkin from the patch! Sydney enjoyed petting the bunny the most, I think. Austin's favorite (by far) was the corn crib! He screamed when we had to get him out...but not for long since Mimi had a snack waiting for him!

The kids all had a lot of fun...they were exhausted when we left (we were there 3 whole hours--with 3 under age 3--wow)! Sydney actually fell asleep while we were still there...and Katie fell asleep on Mimi on the way back from the bathroom! I think Austin and Sydney both slept on the way home. Here are a few pictures for you to enjoy...I'm sure Mimi will post some soon as well.

Thoughtless Thursday

Big girls don't cry...Well, maybe just a little

Today we (my mom, Megan, and I) took Sydney to get her ears pierced...and to get her first sucker! The lady that pierced her ears was great! Sydney cried very briefly while they were being pierced, but got over it pretty quick when she realized she had a sucker. She really REALLY enjoyed her sucker! She slept pretty much all the way home and she has been perfectly happy ever since. Here are a few pictures of my big girl with her new earrings (the purple is from the marker to dot her ears).
